Chinese Solution Providers Demonstrate Stronger TD-SCDMA Competencies
June 21, 2005
Numerous items have recently surfaced in the Chinese press illustrating the increasing adoption of Chinese-made TD-SCDMA solutions. T3G's TD-SCDMA/GSM dual mode chipset has achieved interoperability with TD-SCDMA equipment from Datang, ZTE, TD Tech, and Putian. Commit has released a single-mode TD-SCDMA chipset that has been adopted in Bird's T08, DBTel's 2906, LG's T15, as well as a Lenovo handset. All four models have passed function testing, and are being offered near a 1,000 RMB price point. Spreadtrum's multi-mode TD-SCDMA/GSM/GPRS solution has been adopted into DBTel's S300, Invetec's k933, the Hisense HT26, as well as Amoi and Lenovo's phones. CYIT (Chongqing Chongyou Information Technology) is continuing to primarily roll out digital baseband, with transceiver and analog baseband supplied by Maxim.
